Daresbury Machine Evaluation Workshop Success The 16th Machine Evaluation Workshop was held in early December 2005 at the CCLRC Daresbury Laboratory near Warrington. Cambridge Online was a major participant at this national event that was dedicated to distributed and high performance scientific computing, and saw the growth of our recognition by the CCLRC and attendees as a leading UK HPC (High Performance Computing) Integrator.
Cambridge Online demonstrated solutions based on HP technology suitable for Academic and Commercial Research organizations, as well as making systems available for benchmarking. On show was a Beowulf class Linux Cluster running HP's Scalable File Share (SFS) a fully productised and supported version of Open Source Lustre. For information on the event go to www.cse.clrc.ac.uk/disco/mew16/index.asp which includes the Cambridge Online presentation delivered by Dr. Richard Bemrose on the SFS/Lustre solution.
