World’s largest private international mail provider completes Microsoft Dynamics NAV™ implementation in 12 countries in just 8 months

Cambridge, March 2007

Delivering in excess of 2 million mail items every day, Spring Global Mail, is the world’s largest private international business mail provider.

Having looked at various systems like Oracle’s JD Edwards and SAP to replace its legacy finance system, Spring turned to Cambridge Online to help it implement Microsoft Dynamics NAV at its headquarters in Amsterdam and 12 of its country offices in Europe and North America.

With only a small number of users at many of the country offices it was vital to Spring’s strategy to implement a centrally managed Finance solution whilst continuing to offer each country office the flexibility of local language and country specific fiscal reporting needs. This capability was at the heart of the decision to select Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

In partnership with the team at Cambridge Online, Spring went live in Germany in July 2006 - just 3 months after the project commenced. Taking each country in turn the team implemented a further 9 European offices over the next 5 months and completed the regional offices in New York and Toronto in December 2006.

Delighted with the success of the project, Spring’s Finance Director Administration, Hugo Leenders, commented “Undertaking a project of this size and complexity required a great deal of expertise and commitment. Every step had to be carefully managed and independently audited to comply with our Sarbanes Oxley requirements. The Cambridge Online consultants were fully involved in the planning and implementation of the roll-out strategy and for the system customisation we required. For each country they were responsible for the migration of data, system configuration, user training and for the support as each country completed the critical and complex first month-end.”

Commenting on the selection of Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Cambridge Online as an Implementation Partner, Hugo continues “We had a lot to achieve in a very short timescale. We selected Cambridge Online because of their previous experience in implementing multinational finance solutions.  The combination of Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Cambridge Online has exceeded all our expectations.”

Microsoft Business Solutions Director, Paul White, commented
“Twelve countries, 8 months and expectations that have been exceeded.  On any measure this project has been a great success.  Our thanks and congratulations to everyone on the Spring Global Mail and Cambridge Online team who made this possible.”
